MINDFULNESS & THE ARTS

Creative Strategies to Enhance Attention, Memory, Learning, and Well-Being


Dr. Kristen Betts, PhD, Drexel University

Attend this free three-week series on emerging research about the brain, mind and memory. Learn real-life strategies to increase attention to support metacognition, learning, and well-being through mindfulness, the arts, and creativity.

Session 1: Tuesday | 6/22 at 4pm
We will focus on mindfulness, the brain, and activities to lower stress and increase attention and neuroplasticity.

Session 2: Tuesday | 6/29 at 4pm
We will expand upon mindfulness and explore how creativity and the arts can support flourishing memory and learning.

Session 3: Tuesday | 7/6 at 4pm
We will integrate all of these elements and provide an opportunity to share ways in which you have engaged in mindfulness, creativity, and the arts.

 
 
 
 

About the Content Developer:

Dr. Betts is a Clinical Professor in the Educational Leadership & Management and Higher Education Leadership programs in the School of Education at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on education, neuropedagogy, lifelong learning, and Mind, Brain, and Education science.

This partnership with Drexel University and Dr. Betts highlights Maplewood’s thought leadership in brain health and our commitment to sharing the latest education and support to the community at large. Access to Dr. Betts’ latest research and vast knowledge on the topic of brain health allows Maplewood Senior Living to further guide residents to live a brain-healthy lifestyle.
